1948 GMC

Connecticut Company Transit Bus # 1172

Extensive repairs have been done to both stair wells ...

Tom Holcombe seems to be really enjoying the restoration work...

The interior of the bus will be repainted in original Connecticut Company colors

Restoration on the 1948 GMC continues.

This inside work should be completed by June and we will then paint the outside

of the bus - probably in August. When completed the bus will be placed on

display within the fire museum facilities.

Bus #1172 was owned and operated by The Connecticut Company in Hartford. It was donated to the bus musuem in 1974 and was the first piece in the collection.
